Spring Break

I live for the breaks. I love the time with my children. I love our long talks, when they get deep and let me know what they are thinking in their little minds.

I love cooking with them. I love watching them watch our finished products being formed and the science that goes with it.

I love the first day. The laziest day. The day I let them play on their electronics with little restriction. A day they've waited for. (cause usually electronics are only allowed on the weekend and even them for a limited time) I flip through tv mindlessly, cause by the time I could watch at night time, hubs comes home and I give him the remote, honestly it doesn't matter that much to me.

I'm fairly sure I'm an exception. Most parents count the days till school lets them back in. Don't get me wrong. I also enjoy the quiet peace that comes when children hop on the school bus and ride off to an engaging classroom. To be able to clean my home without little bodies running about undoing what I've just redone. I read recently, probably on pinterest, that cleaning a home with children is like brushing your teeth while eating oreos. Yup, I agree.

What about you? Do you love the breaks? Or do you count the days till school resumes?

Teresa's baby shower

A woman at my church is pregnant with her fifth child, a surprise, since she planned on stopping at four. She has the sweetest young'ns, all adorbs, only one boy. At the shower all the women were instructed to write a piece of motherly advice, which would be put on a key ring for her to cherish. My advice:

Children have a sin nature and will use it, but sometimes they are just being children. Pray for the wisdom to know the difference.

I think I wrote this because this is my own daily struggle. Sometimes I'm guilty of punishing, not because my children are being sinful, but because they were acting as children and that was an inconvenience to me at the time.

Lord Jesus, please give me wisdom, and I raise my little folks. Help me be an example of godliness to them each day.

What would be your godly advice to a new mom?

So it begins...

My first blog. My hearts desire to share with world. My life as a godly wife and mother. My journey through life as I desire to please Jesus in all I do, and to know God intimately.

Along the way, I'd love to share my daily life and struggles, my beautiful children, my hard-working husband, my faithful parents, my wonderful in-laws. God has blessed me with a wonderful life, not without problems, but full of His faithfulness to persevere through them.

As I write my first entry, I'm watching Big Miracle, and admiring the work of those working so hard to save the whales, I wonder how much more should we work to save those around us in our everyday lives from an eternity separated from God.
